Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and IPS officer P Vijayan have been awarded Popular Choice Award at the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year 2014 for their distinguished work in their respective fields.
CNN IBN Indian of the year 2014 Popular Choice Award went to Telangana Chief Minister Sri. K. Chandrashekar Rao for the popularity gained in public life and his yeomen service to Telangana movement. The award was received by TRS MP K. Keshava Rao on behalf of the Chief Minister at New Delhi.
Introduced in 2006, this is the ninth edition of the CNN IBN awards that are adhered to a robust procedure in selecting the awardees finalized by a Jury consisting of a group of distinguished personalities - Soli Jehangir Sorabjee, Deepak S Parekh, Mohanlal Viswanathan Nair, Kiran Karnik and Tennis Ace Leander Paes.
