Protesting against the decision imposed by the Telangana Government on the entry tax for all private vehicles carrying goods and passengers from Andhra Pradesh into the state, the vehicle associations are likely to seek a stay on the tax imposed by Telangana.


On Tuesday, AP Transport Minister Sidda Raghavarao said that the request made to the Telangana Transport Minister Mahender Reddy on the tax on the intra-State vehicles carrying passengers and goods be spared was not fulfilled.


As Hyderabad would be common capital for 10 years, Mr. Rao is still hopeful that the Telangana government would reconsider its decision and spare people from the inevitable hike in fares, cost of goods.


For now, no estimation is made on the number of vehicles entering from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana with over half-a-dozen border points existing between the two States.


Telangana Government has collected close to 50 lakhs on Tuesday night for the entry tax from around 150 transport and commercial vehicles. With over 300 private travel buses entering Telangana every day from AP, Rs 6000 per month needs to paid as tax.
