Anganwadi workers warned

Khammam: Zilla Parishad Chairperson G Kavitha on Saturday expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of Anganwadi centres in Chinthakani mandal. Kavitha, who found several shortcomings in the running of Anganwadis during her inspection, came down heavily on the Anganwadi workers for not following the menu in the mid-day meals programme being provided to the children.

When the numbers in the attendance register and presence of children in the centre did not match, she sought an explanation from Anganwadi worker M Baby Kumari. She warned the Anganwadi workers of stringent action if they fail to perform their duties properly. Later, she launched a website (www.chinthakani.com) developed by mandal praja parishad officials.
