Mission Kakatiya works launched at Tallapalli.The Mission Kakatiya programme, to restore and renovate lakes, tanks and ponds, was inaugurated in Tallapalli village of Mancherial mandal in the district on Tuesday by a host of dignitaries including Peddapalli MP Balka Suman, local MLA Diwakar Rao and Singareni Collieries Managing Director Manohar Rao.

Mancherial (Adilabad): The Mission Kakatiya programme, to restore and renovate lakes, tanks and ponds, was inaugurated in Tallapalli village of Mancherial mandal in the district on Tuesday by a host of dignitaries including Peddapalli MP Balka Suman, local MLA Diwakar Rao and Singareni Collieries Managing Director Manohar Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, SCCL MD Manohar Rao said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao launched the prestigious Mission Kakatiya programme to renovate the lakes and ponds so as to avoid hardship to the farmers on account of water scarcity. If the programme is implemented successfully, water could be conserved for irrigation and drinking purposes.

He said that the Chief Minister was striving hard to take the Telangana State towards the path of development. Manohar Rao said that the Singareni Collieries was also taking part in the developmental activities of the state and as part of that programme, it established a power plant in this region. It was also taking up several developmental activities with the cooperation of the local people.

He said that Open Cast Projects (OCP) and power plants were established in the region with the cooperation of the people. He said that the Singareni Collieries took up the desiltation works of Tallapalli lake and the company would always be in the forefront in serving the people of the region. Several local representatives of the people and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) members were present on the occasion.
