Ibrahimpatnam (Rangareddy): Pandemonium prevailed at Mission Kakatiya programme which was inaugurated by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao at Lingampalli village in Manchala Mandal in the district on Tuesday when the activists belonging to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) clashed with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) as they were upset when one of the TRS members K Chandrasekhar Reddy, went up to the dais and occupied the chair meant for Ministers, thus, violating the protocol.

The TDP members became furious as no seating arrangements were made for the TDP sarpanches and MPTC members. As there was total chaos with the situation going out of control, the police had to intervene and restore order. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that the Mission Kakatiya programme was taken up by the State government with great fanfare to resolve the water crisis in the State.

He said that the position of the groundwater resources would improve and several borewells could be drilled. Plenty of water would be available after renovating the lakes, tanks and ponds and the problems of farmers would be solved, he added. Harish Rao said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wanted to make Telangana lush with greenery and was taking several constructive steps for the purpose.

Ibrahimpatnam TDP MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy said Mission Kakatiya programme would turn successful only through farmers participation. Rajya Sabha MP K Keshava Rao, Bhongir MP Burra Narasaiah and others were present.
