Volkswagen scandal ready for trial After a long gap the ED has filed charge sheet in the controversial Volkswagen case that rocked the YSR government and also put a hook on the then minister Botsa Satyanarayana in 2005.

Even as the Satyam scam is still simmering the Andhra Pradesh is all set to witness the trial of yet another controversy in public scandal involving its politicians that crossed international barriers during YS Rajasekhar Reddy regime.


After a long gap the ED has filed charge sheet in the controversial Volkswagen case that rocked the YSR government and also put a hook on the then minister Botsa Satyanarayana in 2005. All the accused in the case have been summoned by the Nampally court to appear before April 30th. Accused including Helmut Shushter, Ashok Kumar Jain, Jagadish Alagaraja, Gayatri Chandravan and B K Chaturvedi and Joseph V George.


Most of them are in various jails in the country since 2007 in the notorious case Vashishta, the alleged Indian arm of the Volkswagen had come forward to set up a Car factory in AP and had also accepted a share of Rs.11 crore by the APIIC in the project. Embarrassed German government had come forward to repay the AP Govt investment and sent former German ambassador to AP to mediate, also offer back the state investment.
