HC order a jolt to kin of DK Aruna

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday ordered immediate halt to quarry works in Mahbubnagar district, being carried out by the mining company named after Snighda Reddy, daughter of former minister D K Aruna and former MLA Bharatsimha Reddy. The TS Mining department submitted to the HC that the company was taking up works beyond the limits. Reacting on the petition, the court asked the quarry company to immediately stop the works. The court also slapped Rs 33 crore penalty on the company earlier for defying the norms. Expressing dissatisfaction over failure of the State government to collect the penalty amount, the court made it clear that it will collect the amount if the mining officials failed to do so.
