Nizamabad, Karimnagar farmers pour out woes to Bandaru Dattatreya

Union Minister of State for Labor & Employment Sri Bandaru Dattatreya visited the unseasoned rain affected farmers of Karimnagar & Nizamabad districts and assured maximum assistance from the Union government to all the affected farmers in Telangana state.

Union Minister along with MLA Sri Ch. Ramachandra Reddy inspected the affected areas in both districts on Wednesday. Speaking to the farmers, Sri Dattatreya informed that the recent Sri Narendra Modi government's order, which came into force April 1, 2015. "By the new order, farmers who were affected up to 33% of their crop are also eligible for the compensation, previously it was 50%, he said. Hedemanded the state government also should enhance the compensation amount to the affected farmers.

Before visiting the rain affected places of Jagityal, Chelgal, Katlakunta, Thatipally, Perumalla, Medipally and Korutla in Karimnagar district, he reviewed the situation with the district collector and other officials. The minister was informed that above one lakh hectres affected by the rains. Mainly the Paddy, Maze, Turmeric crops were affected severly and huge loss.

Sri Dattatreya stated that he had already spoken to the Union Agriculture Minister Sri Radha Mohan Singh on the loss incurred by the farmers of Telangana due to the unseasonal rains and he assured to send a central team to assess the situation after he receives requisition from the state government.

Honorable minister also visited the affected farmers due to unseasonal rains in Bheemgal and Sirikonda in Nizamabad district.
