The High Court bench said that if the TRS Government won’t hold the elections, a letter would be written to the Central Election Commission. However, to increase the number of GHMC divisions to 200 from 150, the Advocate General needed time till November to hold the elections.
The Court said that the decision over six months time required for the GHMC Elections would be made on Monday.
Speculations are rife that the TRS government was delaying the elections after facing a debacle in the MLC elections in Hyderabad along with a tough fight witnessed in Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduate constituency.
