Hyderabad: The TRS government has stirred up a hornet’s nest with a GO (Government Order) listing four TRS MLAs and son of the Agriculture Minister as progressive farmers to facilitate their foreign tour at government expense. According to GO-204 released by the Agriculture and Cooperation department issued on Monday, an eight-member delegation comprising of officers and progressive farmers would embark on a visit to Israel to attend the 19th International Agriculture Exhibition-Agritech 2015, scheduled at Tel Aviv during April 27-30.
After that, they would be visiting green houses, orchards and open cultivation plots until May 4 to know about the modern practices being implemented in the agriculture field in that nation. The GO states that the expenses of the Agriculture Minister (who will be heading the delegation), his personal secretary, university staff besides the progressive farmers would be met from Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University funds. Meanwhile, political opponents feel that this GO would be creating new headaches for the government since four TRS MLAs - Enugu Ravinder Reddy, K Vidyasagar Rao, Gangula Kamalakar, Dasari Manohar Reddy were included in the list as progressive farmers.
