A delegation of United Muslim Action Committee, an affiliate of MIM met the Chairman of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), K G Balakrishnan at ITC Kakatiya Hotel and submitted a memorandum. They demanded CBI probe or an Independent inquiry by a sitting High Court Judge into the alleged encounter of five suspected SIMI operatives on April 7.

Hyderabad: A delegation of United Muslim Action Committee, an affiliate of MIM met the Chairman of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), K G Balakrishnan at ITC Kakatiya Hotel and submitted a memorandum. They demanded CBI probe or an Independent inquiry by a sitting High Court Judge into the alleged encounter of five suspected SIMI operatives on April 7.

The members raised doubts about the claims of the State Police that the five under trial prisoners were killed in an encounter. Expressing apprehensions about the outcome of the SIT constituted by State government, they demanded independent investigation. Abdur Rahim Quraishi, president, JAC led the delegation, while Ahmed bin Abdullah Balala, MLA and Abdul Azeem, Advocate accompanied him.

MBT leader, Amjedullah Khan who met NHRC Chairman along with family members of the slain undertrials claimed that the State government was trying to hush up the matter. He also alleged that the State Government was trying to bail out the police personnel involved in the incident. He demanded the Commission to analyse the Call History of the policemen to know the involvement of senior police officials.
