Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao’s US Tour seeking investments for Telangana seems to be reaping rewards as NRIs from Dallas have donated $2 lakh to the Mission Kakatiya and Telangana Water Grid schemes. Addressing NRIs in Dallas on Sunday, KTR organized an event, ‘Vibrant Hyderabad’ showcasing the advantages of investing in the IT and other sectors of Hyderabad.


Urging investors to set up industries in Telangana, Mr Rao assured the investors of single window clearances in a time period of two weeks without any hassles. He also explained the new TS industrial policy (TS-iPASS) features stating it as the best industrial policy in India as that it gives approvals based on self-certification.


Mr Rao gave a presentation on the incentives offered by the TS government to IT firms in the SME sector at the programme organized by ‘ITServe Alliance’ which is an association of 150 IT firms in the US.


Stating that the Telangana Government overcame the power shortage in just one year, KTR expressed confidence of the state becoming a power-surplus state in the next four years providing uninterrupted power supply to all the companies.


He also said that a ‘T-Hub’ is set to be inaugurated by the TS government in June that is intended to become the country’s largest start-up incubation centre. The T-Hub is said to host 400 start-ups and is expected to generate 3,000 jobs by 2017 said KTR who set the target to have at least 10 incubators by the end of 2017.
