Rahul Gandhi to take on 15-km Padayatra in Telangana
With the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s two day visit to Telangana all set begin on Thursday, the Congress scion will be undertaking a ‘padayatra’ of 15 km in Adilabad district.
With the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s two day visit to Telangana all set begin on Thursday, the Congress scion will be undertaking a ‘padayatra’ of 15 km in Adilabad district. Rahul Gandhi will be visiting the farmers in Telangana and hear the plight of the farmers’ families who have committed suicide due to distress in the state.

Considered as a morale boost for the Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi’s visit will be the first since the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh last year. Prior to this two day visit scheduled in Telangana, Mr Gandhi had aggressively raised farmers' issues in Parliament and met farmers in Maharashtra and Punjab.
Over 936 farmers have committed suicide in the recent times all over the country and Telangana opposition parties also claimed that since the TRS government came to power last year, hundreds of farmers have committed suicide.
