Jogu Ramanna, Naini Narasimha Reddy, Jagadish Reddy and T Padma Rao on KCR radar
Hyderabad: Soon after the Telangana Government completes one year in office, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is likely to draft some of the senior ministers for party work and rejig his council of ministers. According to party insiders, those who are on the radar of KCR to be drafted for party work are Jogu Ramanna, Naini Narasimha Reddy, G Jagadish Reddy and T Padma Rao.
It is said that the present cabinet of the KCR has four ministers from city, including Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Naini , Padma Rao and Talsani Srinivas Yadav. With the GHMC elections in the offing, KCR wants to draft Naini and Padma Rao for party work and see that they focus attention on winning maximum number of seats in the GHMC.
Party sources say that KCR has been unhappy with Jagadish Reddy. One reason being allegations of corruption against him, and the other for the minister using unparliamentary language during the Assembly session thereby bringing embarrassment to KCR. KCR had sacked the then health minister T Rajaiah following similar allegations and if he remains silent with regard to Jagadish Reddy, it may send wrong signals, party leaders say.
The Nalgonda leader might be entrusted with party responsibilities. The opposition parties have been criticising KCR for not giving representation to woman and SC (Mala) leaders in the cabinet. Hence, the Chief Minister would address this shortcoming during the Cabinet reshuffle, they say.
According to party insiders, since Jogu Ramanna belongs to BC community, if he is drafted for party work then KCR is likely to replace him with Konda Surekha, former minister and Warangal legislator. Her induction will take care of BC representation and woman quota at the same time.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari’s case is very peculiar. Hundred days have been completed since he assumed office but he is yet to submit resignation as Warangal MP. This had given rise to speculations that KCR might send him back to Parliament. But senior TRS leaders say that KCR does not want to lose an efficient minister. It is being said that Kadiam will be brought to the legislative council under MLA quota.
It is said that Kadiam will resign soon after KCR announces his name for MLC elections. Meanwhile, rumours are abuzz that Rasamayi Balakishan might be considered for cabinet berth to cater to SC (Madiga) community which has no representation at present.Chief Whip Koppula Eashwar, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Parliamentary Secretary Vinay Bhaskar and Enugu Ravinder Reddy are some of the other aspirants who cast their eye on cabinet berth.
