CPI (ML) demands pattas for tribals
CPI (ML) New Democracy is organising a Maha Dharna at Indira Park, on Monday, demanding the Telangana State government to issue land pattas to the tribal people, who were cultivating podu agriculture. Hyderabad: CPI (ML) New Democracy is organising a Maha Dharna at Indira Park, on Monday, demanding the Telangana State government to issue land pattas to the tribal people, who were cultivating podu agriculture. CPI (ML) New Democracy Telangana State Committee secretariat member K Goverdhan alleged that the TRS government was trying to drive out tribal people, who were cultivating lands for generations, by branding them as ‘land encroachers’ and ‘criminals’.
The government is creating a hostile atmosphere in the agency area by fencing the lands in the name of surveys. The TRS government which assured three acres of land to Dalits and tribals is now taking away their lands, citing reason-lack of pattas. Protesting against the anti-people and anti-tribal policies of TRS government, New Democracy is organizing Chalo Hyderabad and Maha dharna programmes on Monday. CPI(ML) New Democracy Central Committee leaders P Tanya, State secretary Sadineni Venkateshwara Rao and State leader SK Mukthar Pasha and others will participate in the dharna.
