On Monday, six young boys who went for a swim in the Lower Manair Dam, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad drowned. The deceased were identified as Yachamaneni Pratheesh aka Gopi (13), his brother Pradyumna (10), Twins Juvvadi Soumith and Suhith (8), Joginapalli Shiva Sai (14), and Danaboina Sai Srijan Reddy (14).

The deceased were identified as Yachamaneni Pratheesh aka Gopi (13), his brother Pradyumna (10), Twins Juvvadi Soumith and Suhith (8), Joginapalli Shiva Sai (14), and Danaboina Sai Srijan Reddy (14).


Gopi and Pradyumna were students of Oakridge International School in Hyderabad, their cousins Soumith and Suhith went to Delhi Public School while Shiva Sai and Srijan Reddy were students of Alphores High School. Karimnagar Rural Inspector G. Narender informed that the kids failed to judge the depth of the reservoir and drowned as they did not know how to swim very well.


While the incident occurred, one of their friends Boinapalli Rohan informed the children’s parents and the police were alerted who deployed expert divers. The divers after searching for about three hours fished out the bodies of the six boys.
