Police foil students bid to storm Secretariat . Tension prevailed for some time when a group of student union leaders tried to barge into the Telangana Secretariat on Tuesday morning demanding immediate solution to pending issues pertaining to education sector.

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed for some time when a group of student union leaders tried to barge into the Telangana Secretariat on Tuesday morning demanding immediate solution to pending issues pertaining to education sector.
Leaders and some activists of SFI and PDSU made an attempt to lay siege the main gate of the Secretariat. There was a verbal duel between the students and security personnel at the gate for some time. The police personnel found it tough to prevent the agitating mob of students. Finally, the security men took them into custody and herded into a vehicle.
According to sources, demands of the students include filling of posts of Vice-Chancellors to universities, recruitment of faculty, teaching and non- teaching staff at colleges, schools, better facilities at hostels and improved quality of education.
