"Nazir's role is that of a trafficker. He has been in India since March 15 and has been helping people in border crossing activities. His main role is to recruit youngsters for terrorism activities and sending them abroad," Joint Commissioner of Police T Prabahkar Rao told the media here.

When asked if Nasir had any plans to carry out terror activities ahead of Independence Day, Prabhakar said, "It is yet to be ascertained. From the information disclosed by him during interrogation it is not established. But we cannot rule out that also. But he is to be further interrogated by analysing various gadgets we have recovered."

Cell phones, four Indian passports, one Bangladesh passport and about 100 Indian ID cards like Adhar and Voter ID cards were recovered from Nazir.
