Hyderabad: Accusing the Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders of hampering development of Telangana and people’s welfare, Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Thursday warned that the State government would put them behind bars if they continue to stall the works to derive political mileage.

Addressing media persons at the Secretariat on Thursday, Talasani said K Chandrashekar Rao was the only Chief Minister in the country without any corruption charges against him. He then accused the Congress and the TDP leaders of looting the nation for decades and now trying to blame others.

He lashed out at the Congress and the TDP for trying to tarnish the image of the government which would soon expose all misdeeds, alleged corruption and irregularities during the Monsoon session of Assembly likely to be conducted next month.

Expressing displeasure over the persistent criticism by the Opposition parties, he challenged the Congress to impress upon AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi to direct the Karnataka government under Congress rule to stop irrigation project that hampered the irrigation interests of Telangana if they had guts.

Taken by surprise to know about the big fish involved in Indiramma Housing scam, he said, “We could not understand whom to arrest.” He was vocal at the Opposition for crying foul on the unabated implementation of welfare schemes.

“It is our government and we will take any decision for the cause of people like redesigning of Pranahitha-Chevella project, replacing Osmania General Hospital and shifting of Secretariat and others.

“The Congress does not want a new hospital in the place of dilapidated Osmania General Hospital,” he charged. He slammed the Opposition parties for raising objections to all the welfare plans of the government.

The Minister claimed that Grama Jyothi was meant for all-round development of the villages and the government was offering pensions to eligible, fine rice to hostels and was constructing two bedroom houses for the poor people in the State.

When asked, he said he was always ready for Sanathnagar by-election and the TRS would win the forthcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.“Our efforts to cater to the needs of 1.42 crore people in the GHMC area will bear fruit,” he added.
