Criticizing the TRS government for ignoring the farmers’ plight in Telangana state, BJP state president G Kishan Reddy said that amidst the severe drought conditions which are forcing farmers to end their lives, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has gone ahead with the China tour instead of coming to their rescue.

The BJP district unit conducted a maha dharna at the Collectorate in Nizamabad on Monday protesting against the government’s attitude towards the farmers’ issues. Urging the farmers not to commit suicide, the party activists and leaders took out a rally.
Mr Kishan Reddy speaking at the dharna said that in the past 17 months, around 1,200 farmers committed suicide with KCR’s native Medak district being the highest with 200 farmers’ suicides. Demanding immediate declaration of drought mandals in the state, the BJP President said that the issue will be raised in the Assembly.
