Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's native district Medak recorded 34 farmer suicides and five since the formation of the state. With Opposition parties stating that everyday farmer suicides are being reported, yet the Chief Minister is reluctant to declare a drought.

The BJP party has brought the families of the 34 farmers who committed suicides in Medak district to Hyderabad in order to showcase their crisis.

While the TRS government acknowledges the real crisis but they are not making a move on it. Stating that they won't walk away from the responsibility, MP Kavitha says that they don't have a magic wand to make it right for all the wrong that has happened in the last 60 years.

Opposition parties, however are coming forward stating that the Chief Minister is not declaring the drought as it will stop the major investments coming for the state. KCR taking his private jet of Rs 2 Crore to China at a time of rural crisis is being condemned by the BJP while critics pointed out that the government failed to declare the drought last year too.
