Photography, short film contest to be held

Hyderabad: Photography and short film competitions will be organised on the eve of the Police commemoration Day celebrations slated for October 21.
Announcing the extension of the last date for all entries for the photo and short film contestants up to October 13 on the theme of “People-friendly policing – Role of police in social activities,”
Director General of Police Anurag Sharma said the police set-up was part and parcel of the society and was a major stake-holder in all development and nation building activities.
The DGP highlighted the pivotal role played by the Telangana police in various programmes like Godavari Pushkaralu, Mission Kakatiya, Swachch Telangana, Swachch Hyderabad, Harita Haram, Gram jyoti, etc.
The Telangana police had also adopted several villages for all-round development under these programmes and hence they should be blessed with the wholehearted support and participation by the society, he said.
Anurag Sharma said at the district-level the best photograph and video films would selected by a committee of juries and would get a first prize of Rs 10,000, second best would get Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 for the third best. There would also be a special prize of Rs 1,000 each.
