A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Tuesday dismissed a petition against Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao complaining that he was constantly resigning from his constituency and contesting elections causing loss to the exchequer.

The bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice S V Bhatt was dealing with a petition filed by Madhukar Reddy nine years ago when KCR resigned from his constituency in the cause of a separate statehood. The bench felt that the cause of action did not survive and there was no need for any adjudication now on contesting elections and dismissed the petition as infructuous.
