Minister for Roads and Buildings of Telangana Tummala Nageswara Rao on Tuesday reviewed dry ports, railway lines and waterways alongside National Highways at a meeting with officials of various departments.

Hyderabad: Minister for Roads and Buildings of Telangana Tummala Nageswara Rao on Tuesday reviewed dry ports, railway lines and waterways alongside National Highways at a meeting with officials of various departments.
The meeting attended by R&B Principal Secretary Sunil Sarma, Principal Secretary G Arvind Kumar, Sridhar, MD of Singareni Collieries, Tummala Nageswara Rao reviewed the study on establishment of dry port in Telangana and proposed new railway lines in the State. The consultant agency Ernst and Young has to submit a report on feasibility of dry port in Telangana on or before December 15.
Tummala sought details of railway line from Bhadrachalam to Sattupalli as Railway Board requested re-detailed proposals for the line as the cost was more than expected in the previous report. Singareni Collieries and Railway Board will jointly build Bhadrachalam-Sattupalli Railway line.
Regarding waterways, Tummala directed the officials of Irrigation, R&B to coordinate between themselves and with Central government to build bridges and check dams on water bodies in the State.
While reviewing about airways, the Minister ordered officials to submit report about land and other needs for the proposed airport in Kothagudem in Khammam district.
While reviewing about highways, the Minister asked the Chief Engineer of National Highways to submit a report about national highways connecting remote areas of Telangana to Central government.
