Chilukuru (Nalgonda): Lok Satta State leader Satuluri Govinda Rao appealed to the State and Central governments to declare all the 59 mandals in the Nalgonda district as drought-hit and extend immediate help. On Saturday, he went through various villages where the paddy crop had withered away. He said that the TRS government was not working for the development of farmers. He demanded immediate compensation of Rs 20,000 per acre to the farmers who lost their paddy crop. Lok Satta district secretary Ravi Kumar, mandal leaders Narsaiah, Saidababu, Ravi, Lingaiah, Shravankumar and others were present.

‘Make Bhuvanagiri dist headquarters’
Bhuvanagiri (Nalgonda): TDP politburo member and former minister Uma Madhava Reddy demanded here on Saturday that Bhuvanagiri should be upgraded and made the district headquarters. Addressing a meeting intended to collect signatures to that effect, the former minister appealed to the ruling party representatives to join the all-party agitation demanding the status of headquarters. She said that Bhuvanagiri had all the facilities required for acquiring the status of district headquarters. TDP leaders Krishnachari, Pramod Kumar, BL Chary, Ramesh, Bhikshapati and others were present.
Power sprayers on subsidy
Errupalem (Khammam): Mandal Parishad president Chava Aruna distributed eight power sprayers sanctioned by the Agriculture Department to the farmers here on Saturday. Addressing the farmers, she said that the farmers should utilise the opportunities provided by the government to achieve a higher yield. Tahsildar Sammi Reddy, MPDO Vijaya, AO Vijaybhaskar Reddy and others participated.
