Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao directed the officials to carry out repairs to Nizamsagar project canals and stabilise the ayacut of three lakh acres.
Addressing a review meeting with the officials at his Camp Office here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said the projects should be redesigned to bring more area under irrigation. He directed the officials to fast track the repair works.
CM reiterated that the Kalerswaram project would benefit Nizamabad district and directed the officials to make designs to ensure to draw water from the Mallanna project. He said that irrigated water could be supplied to the Jukkal constituency in Nizamabad district through the inter-state Lendi project and ordered for fast tracking of works.
Commenting on funds for Lendi project, KCR instructed the officials to speak with their counter parts in Maharastra to release funds. Stating that Pranahita project works should complete in time, he ordered that to take up upgradation of lakes and tanks under Mission Kakatitya. KCR directed the officials to speed up the works pertaining to the construction of two-bedroom houses in the district. He agreed to sanction 2,000 additional houses.
“50 houses should be constructed in the designated area. Beneficiaries should be selected through a lottery and the houses should be registered in name of women,” CM added. The Chief Minister told the Ministers, MLAs and officials to take steps to provide nine hours of uninterrupted power supply to the farmers.
