Make arrangements for Mukkoti Ekadasi: Collector

District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the devotees who visit the famous Bhadrachalam Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple for Mukkoti Ekadasi, which will be observed on December 21. The Collector held a review meeting with the officials of various departments over the arrangements for Mukkoti Ekadasi at Chithrakuta Mandapam here on Friday.
Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the devotees who visit the famous Bhadrachalam Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple for Mukkoti Ekadasi, which will be observed on December 21. The Collector held a review meeting with the officials of various departments over the arrangements for Mukkoti Ekadasi at Chithrakuta Mandapam here on Friday.
Lokesh Kumar told the officials to decorate the temple with colourful lights and to arrange ‘arches’ at the main entrances into the town. Two-way barricades must be set up during Teppotsavam ritual to prevent any untoward incidents due to heavy devotee rush and told him to allow only limited number of VIP’s on the boat.
Warning sign boards must be installed preventing the devotees from entering into Godavari River during Teppotsavam rituals and best swimmers should be kept ready. The officials of Revenue, Police and Panchayat Raj departments were asked to supervise the issue of VIP’s protocol. Police department officials were directed to make arrangements to prevent traffic problems by dividing the entire Bhadrachalam town into 12 sectors along with providing tight security.
Tourism department officials were directed to give wide publicity about Mukkoti Ekadasi by arranging flexies, posters and banners at public places along with establishing information centres to inform the people about the importance of the temple at toll-gates and bus stands. The Collector ordered the officials of the Excise department to ban liquor sales for two days during the festival.
