"I hope the university will initiate studies on women's empowerment, women's rights, gender equality and studies that will create confidence and enable our young women for forward movement in society," he said.

Development Service soon
New Delhi (PTI): The new 'Indian Skill Development Service' will be notified shortly to further intensify government's ambitious 'Skill India' programme. "Central government has approved formation of a service in the name of Indian Skill Development Service.
The service will be notified shortly in consultation with the Union Public Service Commission and other concerned departments," Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said. The service will be useful in creation of a dedicated skill development cadre. The Union Cabinet had in October this year given its approval for the formation of a Group 'A' service of the technical cadre of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The UPSC conducts civil services examination every year to recruit officers for Indian Administration Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFoS), among others. Officers for the new service may also be selected through the civil services exam.
J&K skill devt mission in 50 sectors
Jammu (PTI): Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted Skill Development Mission (SDM) for undertaking skill mapping in the state across various sectors. The SDM has been constituted for undertaking skill mapping and to focus on imparting 50 specific skills covering heritage industry skills, traditional trades, modern trades and agriculture-based skill enterprise.
A high-level monitoring committee has been set up under the chairmanship of chief secretary to oversee the policy directions given by the apex skill development mission and take specific initiatives and measures for the skill development.
