Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party will be wiped out of the map Ranga Reddy district with almost all its leaders deserting the party and joining the TRS, said Minister for Panchayat Raj K T Rama Rao. KTR invited leaders of the TDP and other parties, including sarpanches, MPTCs and others from Medchal into the TRS fold here at a programme on Wednesday.
The TDP would soon disappear in Ranga Reddy district as hundreds of leaders and activists were joining the ruling party. Several leaders, belonging to the TDP in Medchal, Shamirpet and other villages, voluntarily joined the TRS. They had realised that the TDP was not a party that espoused the cause of Telangana State, he said. KTR said the TRS government had been spending Rs 4,400 crore for welfare activities.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was keen on building water grid to provide potable water to every household in the State. He also reiterated that the TRS would not ask for votes if it failed to implement the poll promise. Besides providing two bedroom houses for the poor, the government was implementing many welfare sche- mes like pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, fine rice to the hostels, Rs 6-a-kg fine rice to ration card holders, he added.
