Collector threatens to stall doctors’ salaries

Karimnagar: District Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad directed the Medical and Health Department officials to withhold the salaries of doctors, who fail to register hundred percent cases of baby deliveries within their Primary Health Centre limits and at least 90 percent by the end of December.

Addressing a review meeting with doctors at the Collectorate here on Friday, the District Collector told them to take steps to ensure that the number of delivery cases in government hospitals increase. Every month, there should be 10 deliveries in each PHC and each ANM should bring a delivery case every month, she added.

The Collector threatened to surrender the doctors of Chigurumamidi and Uppal to the State government if they failed to change their attitude.

She directed the District Medical and Health Officer to serve showcase notice to Jammikunta doctor, who failed to attend the review meeting.
