Khammam: Communist Party of India (ML) New Democracy has decided to keep away from voting to any candidate in the MLC election, which will be held on December 27 in Khammam.

A resolution to this effect was taken at a meeting held with the people’s representatives and party leaders at Ramnarsaiah Bhavan here on Monday.

It was decided not to vote to candidates of any party including the united candidate of Left parties (CPI and CPM) since the agenda of other parties was completely different from that of their party and also because their party candidate was not contesting in the election.

Speaking to the media, CPI-ML (ND) district secretary Potu Ranga Rao criticised that the political parties have polluted the election system in the State with fake notes and fake votes.

Keeping the agendas aside, a few parties openly joined hands with other parties while some others made a secret understanding with other parties only to win the elections. He said that they were not contesting the elections keeping the welfare of the people in mind.

“Some rich people and those with black money are taking the election system into their hands. They turned the elections into a big market where both votes and voters are purchased. They became a powerful force, dictating and directing the democracy with the money they have,” he pointed out.

Ranga Rao criticised the TRS government that was encouraging leaders of other parties and public representatives to join in their party undemocratically.

“The CPI-ML (ND) party will never step back in fighting for the public issues along with CPI and CPM but we do not want to extend our support to Left parties or join them for contesting the elections,” he added.

CPI-ML (ND) leaders Rayala Chandrashekar, Gokinapalli Venkateshwarlu, Avula Venkateshwarlu, ZPTCs Chandra Aruna, Gauni Ilaiah, MPTCs Ramesh, Venkateshwarlu, Bhadramma, Ellamma and Pullamma were present along with others.
