Khammam: Thousands of devotees thronged Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple at Bhadrachalam on Monday to have ‘uttara dwara darshanam’ on the occasion of ‘Vaikunta Mukkoti Ekadashi’.

Devotees waited in long queues for the darshan of Lord Rama, Sita and Lakhsmana from the early hours on the day. The beautifully decorated ‘Uttara Dwaram’ of the temple was opened in the early hours amidst the chanting of the devotees of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ and ‘Sri Rama, Jai Rama, Jai Jai Rama’.

People from Telangana State and also from neighbouring states thronged to the temple to offer prayers to the deity on this auspicious occasion.

The officials made elaborate arrangements for the occasion which witnessed heavy devotees’ rush. District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar, Warangal DIG Malla Reddy, SP Shahnawaz Qasim, ITDA Project Officer Rajiv Hanumanthu, temple organising secretary K Jyothi, Bhadra-chalam ASP Bhaskaran and RDO B Venkateshwarlu were present along with others.
