Speaking to media person here, CGR chief executive officer G Narayana Rao said Hyderabad city was once considered as the city of gardens and pride of South India.

Sustainable management of natural resources required an integrated approach to closing the cycles of natural resources, energy and waste within cities. Spatial planning systems were essential for the implementation of city-wide policies for sustainable development, tourism and leisure activities could have significant impacts on the quality of a city cultural heritage, he said.

Narayana Rao said presently urban development had been taking place at faster pace without considering environmental security and ambience. To maintain urban environmental balance and to promote environmental action among individuals, the CGR had taken forward several initiatives like observing the Earth Day, Environment Day, Biodiversity Day and so on, he added.
