Nizamabad: District Collector Yogita Rana said that her main objective was to instill confidence among the people by nudging the district officials to solve their problems quickly.

Addressing the print and electronic media in the town at Hotel Vamshi International on Tuesday to explain her New Year targets and resolutions, the District Collector said that her main target was to successfully implement all the State government welfare schemes by coordinating with the district officials.

Rana said that she also wanted to strengthen the anganwadi centers and successfully implement the mother and child welfare schemes. She said that the district administration would take steps to renovate the anganwadi centers by providing all necessary facilities. The ANMs also use these centers as health checkup centers for pregnant ladies, she added.

The District Collector said that steps would be taken to improve the facilities at the 10 primary health centers (PHCs), strengthening the facilities and health services at district headquarters hospital and at the Kamareddy, Bodhan, Armoor, Banswada area hospitals. Rana said that their target was to improve education standards in primary level schools and high schools.

She said that the district administration would take steps to provide shelter to orphans and the aged, improve the facilities at Balsadan and Ananda Nilayam by spending Rs 15 lakh on them, recognize 2361 orphans and give food under the Nitya Annadanam schemes to them.

The District Collector said that there were 5,000 recognized visually impaired students under the age group of 5 to 14 years and they would be provided with Braille education, with the help of district blindness control society. The government would also take steps to educate and rehabilitate child labourers, she added.

Rana said the district stood first in providing 93.93 per cent jobs under the MGNREGS and giving them payments within three days. She said that the district was providing employment to 2.44 crore labourers through the Employment Guarantee Scheme.

In his speech, Joint Collector Ravinder Reddy said that the biometric attendance system was introduced in all 36 MPDOs and Tahsildar offices in the district and the system would be introduced in all the remaining government offices in the district.

He said that 717 acres of land would be purchased by this month ending under the Land Purchase Scheme and and another 300 acres of land would be purchased later, the Joint Collector added.

He said that the district administration was taking steps to implement the 2BHK scheme in a transparent manner. Additional Joint Collector Rajaram, DRO Mohanlal, and officials of various departments were present.
