Mahabubabad (Warangal): The father of a missing tribal girl committed suicide as the police suspected his role in the missing of the girl. The deceased, called Boda Ravi, 40, hanged himself in his agriculture field near Gundige village of Gudur mandal on Thursday.

It might be recalled that his daughter, called Boda Kavitha, studying ninth class at Gudur Ashram School in the district went missing on December 8, 2015. Ravi lodged a complaint in connection with his missing daughter at Gudur police station on Monday.

It was said that he, along with his wife, Vimala rushed back to the village, who migrated to Hyderabad four months ago in search of livelihood. His daughter earlier stayed in the school hostel and went back to her village after her parents went to Hyderabad. She used to travel daily from her village to the school and in the due course went missing.

The Gudur police booked a case and launched investigation. As part of their investigation, they questioned the girl’s father, suspecting his involvement in the incident. Upset at the attitude of the police, he committed suicide, Ravi’s brother B Mohan alleged.
