Hyderabad: The Congress on Saturday termed the TRS manifesto as a bundle of false promises and said it stank worse than Musi. Challenging the claim of the ruling party of providing more than 1 lakh houses for the poor, its leaders ridiculed that the promise could be fulfilled only after 500 years, as it took almost two years for 300 houses.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, former MP and AICC spokesperson Madhu Yashki and TPCC chief spokesperson Dasoju Sravan recalled the IT Minister’s promise about covering the entire city in Wifi network. They questioned the possibility of finishing this pending fete within three months. While referring to the ITIR (IT Investment Region), they held that the Congress was responsible for generating employment to several lakhs of youth. While in contrast, the TRS had failed to generate even a single job.

“The TRS has promised to construct multi-level flyovers in the city, they must answer why it could not be materialised?” they asked.

Madhu Yashki questioned the claims of the TRS of uninterrupted power supply during summer, by pointing out that the government’s lack of support to farming community was the cause behind sustenance of domestic consumption. He alleged that the TRS leadership was currently engaged in scam of Rs 200 crore in procurement of power.

AICC spokesperson alleged that Governor E S L Narasimhan was acting like ambassador of the ruling party by endorsing Mission Baghirada, the project which received notoriety for irregularities. Rather, the Governor should have ordered an inquiry into the transactions made for the project, he said.
