He was speaking at the inaugural function of the additional classrooms in Rajendranagar government high school here in Khammam city. 

Khammam: The TRS government is fully committed to the development and has plans to build about 7,000 houses for the poor in Khammam city itself, said the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, here on Thursday. He was speaking at the inaugural function of the additional classrooms in Rajendranagar government high school here in Khammam city.

He later participated in a programme organised by Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas and said the government was issuing the loans without any interest to the women of self-help groups of Khammam district. Talking about his performance, “After becoming the minister, I immediately sanctioned toilets for the poor households, which are important for people lead a dignified life,” he said.

Addressing the women, he said the TRS government has made the gas connection a right to every household. “The people who did not get gas connection till now can contact the concern officials and take it. It is the responsibility of the government to provide gas connection to the poor people on subsidy”, the minister held.

The Zilla Parishad Chairperson G Kavitha, the MEPMA Project Director Venu Manohar, ZP Chief Executive Officer Nagesh, RDO Vinay Krishna Reddy, Rajiv Vidhya Mission Project Director Ravi Kumar, ICDS Project Director Dr. Sukh Jeevan Babu and the Head Master of Rajendranagar government High School Venkateshwar Rao were present at the event.
