Nalgonda: Demanding the withdrawal of sedition case filed against Assistant Professor Dr C Khasim, the members of Democratic Teachers’ Federation (DTF) staged a protest at Telangana Martyrs Pylon near Clock Tower Centre here on Sunday.

They raised slogans about an alleged conspiracy hatched by Sangh Parivar for expansion of Manuvadha culture in the country.

Speaking at the protest, DTF state vice-president M Somaiah suspected conspiracy by saffron forces behind the suicide of University of Hyderabad research scholar Rohith Vemula. To divert the public attention from Rohith’s incident, false cases were filed against Jawaharlal Nehru University student Kanhaiya Kumar, he alleged.

Alleging that efforts were going on to turn universities as religious centres, he demanded action must be taken against Central ministers, who were responsible for Rohith’s suicide.

Stating that conspiracy was going on to root out secular and democratic ideology from the country, Somaiah reminded that as a part of it, sedition case was filed against Assistant Professor Dr Kasim, who played crucial role in Telangana agitation.

DTF district president S Vidyasagar Reddy, general secretary P Venkulu and others were also participated in the protest demonstration.
