Women told to follow dress code
The retired principal of KU Law College, Prof B Vijayalakshmi has advised the women to follow the dress code that falls in line with Indian traditions and looks graceful.
Warangal: The retired principal of KU Law College, Prof B Vijayalakshmi has advised the women to follow the dress code that falls in line with Indian traditions and looks graceful.
The women are the representatives of Indian tradition and culture and they should uphold them by their attire. She addressed a gathering of students and staff at Vaagdevi Engineering College on Saturday where a seminar on ‘Awareness on Women’s Laws’ marking the Women’s Day celebration was held.
‘The women shouldn’t behave in a manner that leads to violence against them,’ she added. Vijayalakshmi expressed concern over occurrence of acts of violence and attacks against women despite numerous laws for their protection.
‘It would be better to avoid a crime to take place instead of regretting it after it occurred’. She called upon the women to continue their struggle to achieve economic, political and social equality and to compete with men in their field of work.
