CPM demands action against SR educational institutions
Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPM on Wednesday demanded the State government to derecognize the SR educational institutions and take stringent action against them. They also burnt down the effigy of the college management at the Dharna chowk in the town protesting against harassment of girl students.

They also burnt down the effigy of the college management at the Dharna chowk in the town protesting against harassment of girl students.
Addressing the gathering, district CPM secretary Dandi Venkat. said for the last one year, while one student commited suicide, another student died. He alleged that students in private colleges were being harassed by the managements of the respective colleges.
Suspecting foul play, Venkat said though Alekhya commited suicide in the morning, the college management did not informed anyone till the evening and admitted the student in the hospital on the name of another college.
He said these acts suspected the motives of SR management. District CPM committee members Nurjahan, city secretary M. Goverdhan, town wing leaders K Madhu, Sujatha, Naresh, Karthik, Anil and others were present.
