ST hostel serving poor quality rice
Contrary to the claims of Social Welfare officials, the inmates of a ST girls’ hostel in the town are being served poor quality rice and dal. When a group of media persons visited the hostel on Saturday, it was revealed that there was no truth in the claims of Social Welfare officials and people’s representatives that super fine rice was being supplied to hostels and the menu was being implemented
Tandur (Ranga Reddy): Contrary to the claims of Social Welfare officials, the inmates of a ST girls’ hostel in the town are being served poor quality rice and dal. When a group of media persons visited the hostel on Saturday, it was revealed that there was no truth in the claims of Social Welfare officials and people’s representatives that super fine rice was being supplied to hostels and the menu was being implemented strictly.
Against the strength of 250 girls, only 15 inmates were present in the hostel. Some girls complained that egg was being provided once in a week and no fruits were being given to them. The warden was not present in the hostel. It was alleged that the warden was visiting the hostel once in a day to give the ingredients for cooking food and he was not staying there at night. The girls also said they were not getting cosmetic charges for the past four months.
