Hyderabad: The State government on Thursday issued a Government Order extending the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme to unmarried girls from the Backward Caste community.

  • Under the scheme, a one-time financial assistance of `51,000 at the time of marriage would be given to every SC/BC/ EBC with effect from April 1
  • For availing of the scheme applicants should be unmarried and should belong to BC/EBC communities

The government on Thursday issued GO MS no. 5 extending the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme to the BCs. According to the GO, around 58,000 beneficiaries would be selected on first come first serve basis.

Under the scheme, a one-time financial assistance of Rs 51,000 at the time of marriage would be given to every SC/BC/ EBC with effect from April 1. For availing the scheme, girls should be unmarried and should belong to BC/EBC communities.

The girl should also be a resident of Telangana State, should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage and the combined income of parents of BC/EBC girl should not exceed Rs 2 lakh per annum.

Applicants should apply online for ‘Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam’ by accessing http://epasswebsite.cgg.gov.in through any Mee Seva centre or can submit their application directly at the Tahsildar’s office.

The applicants should submit documents like date of birth certificate, caste certificate, income certificate and the Aadhaar card of the bride and groom must be scanned and uploaded on the website.
