In a tragic accident, a 21-year-old BTech student was killed in the wee hours of Sunday. The incident took place near Journalist Colony in Jubilee Hills when the student identified as K Devi and her boyfriend crashed into a tree. While the girl died on the spot, the boy, Bharath Simha Reddy who is a degree final year student suffered injuries. Locals claimed that the couple was seen having an argument with the girl crying for help minutes before the accident. The car was parked in a deserted place a km away from the accident spot.

Police suspect that the couple was drunk and were returning from a pub in Hitech City. The police officials who reached the spot stated that the car’s left side was completely damaged and the woman suffered serious injuries on the head, chest resulting in her instant death while the man was injured. While the police said that nobody reported about a woman screaming for help before the accident, the residents of Huda Enclave said that they saw the car parked in front of their gate at around 3.45 am and that a quarrel broke between the couple where the woman was trying to escape, shouting for help.

Meanwhile, Devi’s friends informed that she had gone out with friends on Saturday night. A case has been registered against Bharath Simha Reddy, who is now recovering in hospital, under Section 304 A and police are investigating whether there was alcohol in his body.
