Hyderabad: Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao on Thursday informed that the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on May 21 would be observed as Anti-Terrorism Day.

Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Hanumantha Rao said that month-long events were planned in connection with the death anniversary. He said that people, especially youth need to be enlightened about the contribution and vision of Rajiv Gandhi for the country.

He alleged that the BJP-led NDA government was trying to malign the image of Nehru-Gandhi family to erase its contribution from the history.

However, he said that Congress would take Rajiv Gandhi's message to every nook and corner of the country. Hanumantha Rao said that a series of events would be organised in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as part of Rajiv Gandhi's death anniversary.
