Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP K Kavitha on Sunday said that the social responsibility of Telugu-speaking people living in America was an inspiration to many.
The Nizamabad MP was speaking at the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of America Telugu Association (ATA) at Chicago in the United States. She welcomed the film fraternity from both the Telugu-speaking States, who came to the ATA celebrations.
Speaking during the occasion, Kavitha said, “At a time when there was not much development in the communication sector, it used to be very difficult to communicate with people who come to America and also for the job-seekers to come to America. Now, there is no such difficulty.
There are two organisations for Telugu-speaking people like ATA and TANA, who have been organising social, cultural programmes to show that all are one.”
Kavitha said that it was essential to have social commitment to take up any work. "All have the responsibility of teaching our children about the greatness of our nativity.
It is essential to see that children born in America and children born in India, who are not growing in America, do not forget Telugu. Telugu cinemas are teaching children in America the greatness of Telugu language," said Kavitha.
The TRS MP said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, when heard about blasts in Istanbul, quickly enquired about the Telugu people living there.
