Nalgonda: The Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, has on Friday faced a bitter experience as the SFI students blocked his convoy, who was on his way to Chityal.

He planted a sapling at Choutuppal agricultural market as part of the second phase Haritha Haram programme in the district and inaugurated 5 MTs solar panels atop the godown, constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crores. Later, he left to Chityala to launch massive plantation drive in Gundrampalli.

The SFI students, who were standing alongside the road, suddenly came on to the road and blocked the KCR bus and raised anti-government slogans.

They demanded setting up of a government degree college at Choutuppal, control over the fee structure in private schools, implementation of KG to PG free education and right to education in private schools for the welfare of poor students.

The police swung into action and mildly caned the protestors. They arrested as many as 20 student leaders to clear the way for the CM to go to Gundrampalli.
