Mahbubnagar: Giving a call to every individual in the district to participate in the Haritha Haram programme, Minister for Medical Health and Family welfare Dr C Laxma Reddy exhorted every individual to plant at least one tree and become part of the green revolution in the State.

“The Haritha Haram programme initiated by the government is aimed at bringing a green revolution in the State. Take up the plantation of trees as a ‘movement’ and ensure that we achieve the intended goal of 33 per cent forest cover in the State,” said the Minister, while launching the plantation programme in Navabpeta mandal on Tuesday.

The Minister launched the programme of planting 50,000 plant saplings in a single day in Rekulachowdapur, lingampally and Lokirevu villages in Navabpeta mandal of the district. Later, the Minister along with district collector Dr T K Sridevi, additional secretary to Chief Minister Smita Sabharwal and OSD Priyanka and others participated in the tree- plantation programme at ZPHS at Navabpeta mandal headquarters and administered oath to the school students.
