Nalgonda: State Chief Secretary (CS) Rajiv Sharma directed the district collectors of Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar to complete the Krishna Pushkaram works at the earliest, during a video conference on the progress of Pushkaram works on Thursday.

Responding to the CS questions, the Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy replied that 90 percent of works were completed and the balance works would be completed by the end of July. He requested the government to release the sanctioned amount to various line departments to intensify the works.

The repair works of Wadapally and Mattampally temples have been carrying out with Rs 24 lakh from the funds of endowment department. Perfect plans were chalked out to tackle the traffic issues in view of heavy crowd expecting at Wadapally, Mattampally and Sagar Pushkar ghats.

The collector further informed the district administration is planning free meals distribution to 10,000 devotees daily at Wadapally and Mattampally temples during the Pushkaram days. He suggested the CS to direct tourism department to decorate Nagarjuna Sagar dam and Buddhavanam with lights during Pushkaram time to make a colorful environment.

District SP Praksh Reddy, Joint Collector Dr N Satyanarayana, Additional JC Venkatrao, DRO Ravi Naik, SE RWS Ramana, DPO Prbhakar Reddy and other officers participated in the video conference.
