Hyderabad: Seriously concerned over the safety and security of his party leaders in Telangana, Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday demanded active intervention of the Union government in providing adequate security cover to the party’s Telangana unit leaders.

In a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, the TDP supremo urged the former to instruct the Telangana government for the increase of security to TDP (Telangana) working President A Revanth Reddy.

Naidu informed the Home Minister that Revanth was facing threat to his life from some forces in the recent times. Revanth has been receiving threat calls in the wake of his intensified struggle against the TRS government and its policies, Naidu added, further bringing to the notice of the centre that the security cover to the TDP leader has been reduced in the recent times.

In view of threat perception, Revanth has been provided one plus one security personnel by the government during his visits to the districts. Practically, it was not implemented. Naidu said the intelligence inputs already suggested the state government for the increase of security to his party leader, but no action has been taken so far.
