The kids of Delhi Public School (DPS) have planted saplings in the schools premises at Peddapendyal on the outskirts of the city on Thursday, lending their part to the ongoing Haritha Haram programme.

​Warangal: The kids of Delhi Public School (DPS) have planted saplings in the schools premises at Peddapendyal on the outskirts of the city on Thursday, lending their part to the ongoing Haritha Haram programme.

Additional Joint Collector S Tirupathi Rao, Mandal Development Officer Parijatham, Mandal Education Officer M Saibabu, local Circle Inspector A Rajaiah, the School Principal Subodh Thapliyal and others took part in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Tirupathi Rao said seeing Telangana covered with an extensive green cover was the objective of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. That was why the Haritha Haram programme was taken up.

It was good to see that the school children were too actively participating in the programme, the official added.

A student of the school, EV Keerthika Rao said she had learnt about trees and their significance in textbooks and now got a chance to learn how to plant a sapling and nourish them.
